The more time we spend in lockdown, the more things we discover on Netflix! So if you are taking the time at home to catch up on all the shows you thought you had missed we have another few shows to add to that list, all of these shows have some sort of LGBT link and are all on Netflix!
So, take Netflix and Chill to anew level with these queer relatable shows:
Queer Netflix Show – AJ and the Queen
Ru Paul making her Netflix Original debut as a down on her luck, but still fabulous drag queen who travels across the USA in a campervan! Cancelled after one season, it is still worth a watch as Ru (or her character Ruby Red) performs in a different drag club each episode where she is joined by some of the most well-known contestants from Drag Race! Lots of fun!
Queer Netflix Show – American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace
A true-life story drama done well. The lead actor is just the right amount of creepy and the tension is maintained throughout the whole show. It shows the 90’s vibe well and lead actor Darren Criss won an Emmy for his performance.
Queer Netflix Show – American Horror Story
A well regarded and often watched Netflix Show which tilts the approach in every season, making it fresh and watchable each and every time. Horror done well, and there are always LGBT characters with great roles and stories to follow.
Queer Netflix Show – BoJack Horseman
An animated show, recently noted as one of the best animated television shows of all time, is known for tackling difficult issues like sexism, racism, trauma and of course sexuality. Its treatments of these real-life problems has been tacked well and for a show about a washed up actor it is well worth a watch.
Queer Netflix Show – Bonding
Perhaps running on the coat tails of the success of fifty shades of grey, this story loosely based on the real-life experiences of the creator follows a dominatrix and her gay best friend who doubles as her assistant. Exploration of many themes in this show as sadomasochism and sexuality are highlighted and followed as the story unfolds.
Queer Netflix Show – Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
The new Sabrina show has no relation to its 90’s forerunner, and it is loved by audiences. Darker, sexier with gay, straight, pansexual and trans characters included and melded well into the storylines this is a great teen show for everyone.
Queer Netflix Show – Daybreak
If you wanted to see a great sword wielding hero character who just happens to be gay, then this show is for you. Based on a graphic novel, this is a great show for those who love to spot pop culture references but was cancelled after its first season!
Whatever you are doing during lockdown, ensure you are watching some of the great shows on this list.
